Customers that are not familiar with the term “epoxy dome” often ask us to describe what it looks like and how it will benefit their order of custom lapel pins or challenge coins.  We make it easy to explain by stating that, “An epoxy dome is a clear coating placed on the top of a lapel pin or challenge coin.”  In some instances, it is needed to protect an image on the pin or coin.  This is often the case with offset printed images.  Other times, a clear coating is added to traditional soft enamel lapel pins and challenge coins as a preference or a way to add aesthetic value.  People like epoxy domes because they are very durable and smooth to the touch.

Although an epoxy dome can be added to most styles of lapel pins and challenge coins, it is not recommended for cloisonné pins or coins.  Cloisonné lapel pins are already smooth to the touch and have a high polished jewelry finish.

Here are some reasons why epoxy domes are ideal even though they are optional:

  • They protect the image from being scratched or damaged. This is especially true on offset printed lapel pins and challenge coins.  The clear coating adds a layer of protection over the image.
  • They add value to a product by enhancing its appearance. Some lapel pins and challenge coins look better with an epoxy dome.  People believe that these items are more valuable than others because of their smooth finish.

Epoxy dome is a type of add-on that really makes a difference.  To learn more about it, visit http://www.lapelpinsplus.com, email info@lapelpinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904.

Some of the largest orders we receive come from different churches located throughout the nation.  Members of all denominations decide to use custom lapel pins in their day-to-day activities as a way of generating a sense of pride in members and to announce stewardship or membership campaigns.  These small tokens of appreciation come in a variety of different shapes and styles and can even be created in a way to look like the front of your church.  This helps add mass appeal to these items by making them personal and memorable.

Reasons Why Churches Use Lapel Pins

There are a number of reasons why churches use lapel pins.  Here are some of the most common:

  • To identify different members and their roles within the church. This is especially helpful in large churches with new members.
  • To welcome new members and introduce them to others. Parishioners can feel accepted from the very first day at their new church which can be a really big relief.
  • To hand out on youth group trips and missions. Custom lapel pins can be traded as church members travel from one location to the next.
  • To give away at conventions and rallies. Getting the word out about your church is easy when you have cross lapel pins made for an upcoming event.
  • To foster a sense of community within a congregation. Members of the church are patient with one another.  They take pride knowing that they touch the lives of other human beings in a physical and spiritual way.
  • To sell for church fundraisers. Mission trips and charitable causes can be funded by selling custom lapel pins.

A List of the Most Popular Religious Symbols

Popular religious symbols can be incorporated into your custom design.  All you have to do is let us know which one interests you and we can add it to the artwork that we create for you.  Churches tend to like to use:

  • Crosses
  • Doves with Olive Branches
  • Pictures of Jesus
  • Fish
  • Bibles
  • Angels
  • Verses and Psalms

We can essentially come up with any type of artwork that you require and even allow you to choose the size, shape, and colors that best complement your design ideas.  This gives you plenty of options.  In fact, we offer several different types of lapel pins to choose from as well.  You have your pick of soft enamel, cloisonné; die struck, photographic, and silk screened.  Add-ons like glitter, blinking lights, and gemstones are a final way of furthering the appeal of your church lapel pins.  You can speak to a representative at any time to learn more about the ordering process by calling us at 1-800-252-0904 or emailing info@lapelpinsplus.com.

The Breakers Resort of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is famous for providing its guests with everything a dream vacation has to offer. Its oceanfront property stands complete with one to three bedroom condos and suites, lavish amenities, and activities for guests of all ages. We were honored to create hotel lapel pins for its employees when they contacted us.

The Breakers Hotel is known for being a refined establishment. So, its customized employee pins had to live up to the hotel’s image. Simple, clean, and classy are a few words that can be used to describe this series of exclusive custom items.

Class and Style Meet Uniformity

Lapel Pins Plus was able to create not one but three custom pins for the coastline vacation spot. The lapel pins that Breakers Resort employees will be wearing are identical in one way, but vary in others.

Uniformity is a must when it comes designing employees lapel pins. Breakers Resort utilized its signature wave logo for all three lapel pin designs. The curling ocean wave in rich blue and green colors can be seen on key employees all around the resort. With the company’s logo as the only graphic used, size, and plating are ways in which the lapel pins differentiate between employees.

We crafted the same pin in three different sizes.  The mixed order included small, medium and large pins.  The smallest lapel pin is only .75 inch.  The medium pin is 1 inch and large is 1.25 inches.  While size creates an obvious distinction, the metal plating options that were used further distinguishes two pins from one.

Breakers Resort decided to alternate between gold and silver lapel pins.  The small and medium sized hotel pins are silver.  The large pin is gold.  This is one of the best, simplest, and least expensive ways to divide specific groups. In business environments, changing the metal plating is also a good means of establishing an employee recognition program.

Creating Custom Pins is Our Passion

With our help, Breakers Resort will continue to impress guests and give them “vacations that last a lifetime”.  They benefited by taking advantage of Lapel Pins Plus’ years of experience and knowledge, and you can too!

In the past, we have had the pleasure of creating several different styles of patches for museums around the country.  These organizations host sleepovers in their buildings as a way of getting children excited about their exhibits.  Custom embroidered patches are handed out at these events as a way of gaining the attendees’ interest in the artifacts on display.

The children that attend the sleepover can collect one patch for every one of the new exhibits that they learn about.  By the end of event, they have a handful of patches that can be sewn or ironed onto different articles of clothing, hats, and backpacks.  These items make great conversation pieces for children to share with others throughout the school year.  They also serve as a reminder of the museum and the different types of relics that were on display.  Children can learn a lot about history and other countries’ cultures by attending events like these.

Benefits of Ordering Embroidered Patches for Events

Custom embroidered patches are very beneficial.  In fact, they can be used in a variety of ways to teach and inspire youth.  For example, many summer camps and educational programs host design contests.  The child that is named the winner gets to see his or her artwork on the group’s patch for that year.  This can be a very rewarding task as it encourages creativity and showcases talent among groups of people.

Here are some other things that make embroidered patches ideal for youth:

  • They are easy to attach to clothing, baseball hats, and bags. We offer a variety of different options to fit our customers’ needs.  From sew-on and iron-on patches to ones that are secured with Velcro, you can find the style that you feel is the most beneficial for your youth group.
  • They come in a variety of sizes and shapes. We can make suggestions once we have had a chance to create the custom artwork for your patches.  We base this on the amount of detail that is involved in the design.
  • They can include custom artwork which makes them very personal. Rather than go with some run-of-the-mill clip art, we create unique artwork based on the customer’s design ideas.  This adds to the patch’s sentimental value and makes them the type of item children hold onto for many years.
  • They help children remember special events. Rather than rely on pictures to remind them of the time spent at camp or a sleepover, young people can look at their patches and remember each detail of an event as if it happened only yesterday.

Custom embroidered patches make the perfect gift for children of all ages.  They inspire teamwork and exploration while simultaneously rewarding youth for showing an interest in education.  To order your own patches for your group or organization, visit us on the web at http://www.embroideredpatchesplus.com.

Whether or not we provide custom awareness lapel pins is a question we have been hearing more and more lately. The good news is, Lapel Pins Plus will not only help you create awareness pins but will design them any way you would like.

We offer many customization options, which includes letting you decide what size your awareness lapel pin should be. Choosing a large sized pin will make your call for awareness more noticeable, spark other people’s interest, and leave a lasting impression. Smaller lapel pins can serve as inspiring accents on hats, bags, and scarves.

Increased Awareness Requires More Colors

Wearing awareness ribbon pins is a meaningful way to show your support and appreciation.  This practice has extended way beyond donning pink ribbons for breast cancer and red ribbons for HIV/AIDS awareness.  As a matter of fact, there are a wide number of other causes and diseases associated with many different colors.

Here are a few of the many awareness ribbon colors that can be used in your ribbon lapel pin design with their meanings:

  • White – innocence, peace, Alzheimer’s, adoption, bone disease/cancer, and men working to end violence against women.
  • Gray – Diabetes, brain cancer, Parkinson’s, asthma, ending sex trafficking, and slavery
  • Lavender – cancer, epilepsy, and rett syndrome
  • Blue – drunk driving, ending child abuse, arthritis, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and save the music
  • Green – missing children, protecting the environment, kidney cancer, tissue/organ donation, working, and driving safety
  • Orange – leukemia, ending hunger, cultural diversity, and humane treatment of animals
  • Purple – pancreatic, testicular, and thyroid cancers, domestic violence, Crohn’s disease, colitis, lupus, and religious tolerance
  • Brown – anti-tobacco, colon cancer, colorectal cancer
  • Pink and Blue – miscarriage, stillbirth, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
  • Jigsaw Puzzle (Multi) – autism

Personalizing the Call Can Truly Make a Difference

Does your company participate in awareness campaigns and fundraisers? Did you know that you can include your company’s logo in the awareness pin design also? Your business’ colors, name, and other relevant details can be added to give the pin a personal touch.

We can also create custom ribbon pins to help you pay tribute to a specific group. Survivors and individuals affected by your cause will feel honored when they see awareness pins made with them in mind. This is another benefit of trusting the experts at Lapel Pin Plus.

Pasadena based motorcycle club 110 to the End knows a lot about giving back.  The group shares a love for riding motorcycles and a commitment to their families, employers, and communities.  That is why they contacted us recently with a personal request.  They wanted to create custom lapel pins in anticipation of the G-Red Toy Run they were organizing.  The event helps less fortunate families have the type of Christmas they wouldn’t otherwise be able to provide for their children.

Lapel Pins Plus was able to create a lapel pin that was rich in detail and educational.  In fact, using the customer’s design ideas, we were able to create artwork that included an image of a motorcycle as well as the name and location of the group.  The words, “1st Annual G-Red Toy Run—December 18th, 2010” make it hard not to know the reason for and the date of the event.

Custom Lapel Pins Serve Many Purposes

At charitable events like the one organized by 110 to the End, custom lapel pins are valuable for a number of reasons.  First and foremost, they can be used to help a group get the word out about their cause.  This can help generate support and increase the amount of donations coming in.  Second, lapel pins can be used to measure progress and reward participation.  Anyone helping out at the event will feel honored when handed a small token of appreciation for their effort.  Last but not least, personalized pins shed light on a problem as well as offer a solution.  The G-Red Toy Run lapel pins identify a lack of financial resources in the community and introduces the first annual event as a way of assisting those in need during the holidays.

Achieving a Sense of Community

Custom lapel pins help groups achieve a sense of community.  Each member can feel like their efforts inspired some sort of change.  For 110 to the End, their mission was very clear.  They wanted to give back to the people of Pasadena by organizing a toy run.  The pins that we created for this exciting event make a great keepsake for everyone involved in the planning process and execution of it.

When it comes to lapel pins, they are similar in size and thickness to different pieces of US currency.  For example, our pins are 1.2 mm thick which is very similar to a nickel.  Our 1” diameter pin is roughly the same size as a quarter which measures .96”.  Another common comparison can be made between our .75” round pins and a penny.  Keep in mind that the size of your pin is either the diameter of the pin if it is circular or the length of its widest or tallest point.  This knowledge will help you choose the right size of lapel pin to accommodate your custom artwork.

Pins can be thicker than 1.2mm if requested.  You can contact your sales representative for additional pricing and availability.  Because of their custom nature, your lapel pins can be created any way that you want them to be.  This makes it easy for us to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your order.  The freedom to choose how your lapel pins will look is part of their appeal.  Imagine owning something that has your own artwork or photograph on it.  Talk about having a personal and meaningful souvenir!

No matter what size you select, your lapel pins will impress the people that you give them to.  Whether it is a member of your team or a group of exceptional employees, one thing is certain.  You cannot go wrong when you give custom challenge coins as a gift.  Not only are they made from quality materials, they can be designed in a way that motivates, educates, and rewards individuals.  Few other gift items have the ability to do all that.

Visit http://www.lapelpinsplus.com to learn more about what we have to offer our customers.  Our website shows the different styles of lapel pins we sell and also gives you information regarding price and add-ons.  If you want to request a free quote, you can submit your inquiry online, via email at info@lapelpinsplus.com or by calling 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.
