March 17, 2011 by lapelpinsplus

If you are anything like us, you may have woken up this morning and left the house seeing green. And we are not talking about the trees and grass.  The green we are referring to is that of the over one thousand year old religious holiday, Saint Patrick’s Day.

Oh the Luck of the Irish

On St. Patrick’s Day, which is celebrated annually on today, March 17th, and falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families and descendants usually attend church in the morning.  The afternoon is reserved for celebrations.  Though Lent prohibits the consumption of meat, the restriction is waived for this luck themed holiday as the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage is served.

Another well known St. Patrick’s Day tradition is its honorary parade. Ironically enough, the initial parade was not held in Ireland. It took place in the United States. The first parade helped the Irish soldiers serving in the English Military reconnect to their Irish roots. The soldiers marched through New York City on March 17, 1762.

A Give Away for the Green Day

Regardless of how you choose to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, we want you to remember that custom lapel pins are the perfect addition to parties, dinners and parades.  With the 2011 holiday already here, now would be a good time to start designing the lapel pins for next year’s events.

We are more than happy to incorporate your ideas when creating your lapel pin design. Not only that, but we also send you a full color digital proof of your pin and a price quote completely free of charge.  What more could you ask for? Well, we will also ship your pins to you anywhere within the United State at no additional cost.  Is all of this part of the luck of the Irish? No, it’s the stellar customer service from Lapel Pin Plus!

Before we end this post, and you resume your St. Patrick’s Day activities, we want to leave you with one last wish, an Irish blessing.

Like the warmth of the sun

And the light of the sky

May the luck of the Irish

Shine bright on your way

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
