Memorial Day, once known as Decoration Day, has roots that span back to Civil War days.  Once dedicated to the memory of fallen soldiers, the Federal holiday now pays tribute to all lost loved ones.  Families gather together over the three day weekend to spend time with one another, reflect upon the past, and remember the family members and friends that are no longer with them.

Memorial wreaths and flower arrangements are commonplace at gravesites across the country.  There are, however, other ways to pay tribute to lost loved ones.  One of the most unique ways is through the use of custom lapel pins. These small pieces of memorabilia can be created in a way to honor a loved one’s lifestyle and achievements.

Here are some things you can do with lapel pins to pay tribute to the men, women, and children in your life that have passed away:

  1. Host a remembrance party. Hand out lapel pins featuring the person being honored’s name, date of birth or photograph.  These small keepsakes are rich in personal meaning because they are custom.
  2. Use them to raise money for the family.  Benefit dinners and fundraisers are a great place to sell Memorial Day related pins.  The funds collected can be given to the family to help pay for day-to-day expenses.
  3. Attach them to silk flower arrangements that are placed on the graves.  Instead of bringing just flowers, consider attaching your pin to one of the petals.  It’s something to see dozens of arrangements bearing the same personalized image.

Custom lapel pins can be created in any size, shape, color, and style.  They can feature different information about the person being honored and can include a photograph or graphic of your choice.  This makes them as unique as the person they’re being created for.

What better way is there to pay tribute on Memorial Day than with custom lapel pins from Lapel Pins Plus?  Submit your ideas today for next year.  It’s never too early to start thinking about your future events and needs.  Call 1-800-252-0904, email info@lapelpinsplus.com or visit http://www.lapelpinsplus.com today.

Teams are getting a head start and ordering their custom trading pins early this year.  That’s because tournaments across the nation are already beginning.  Pin trading is huge.  No team wants to be left out.

You may want to know how many pins you should order for each of your players.  Most teams like to have between 30 to 45 pins per athlete.  This gives them plenty of opportunity to trade with other players from around the world.

Many of the best pins have add-ons.  Some of our most popular options include Danglers, Spinners, Sliders, Bobble Heads, and Blinkies.  Glitter is also another big seller. It can be used to accentuate different areas of your design.

You can add your player’s names or numbers onto the trading pins.  You can also include your team’s name, mascot, and colors.  Larger pins make it possible to fit more text into the design.  If you have a lot to say, this may be the best option for you.

Trading pins come in a variety of sizes and shapes.  Your design will largely determine these factors.  Once you have expressed interest in having your pins created, we can give you feedback by making suggestions based on what you tell us.

Contact us today to get your trading pins started.  Just tell us your ideas and we will take it from there.  The earlier you get your orders to us the easier it is for us to fulfill them.  We want your custom trading pins to shine at your next game or tournament.

Archery is the art, practice, or skill of shooting arrows with the help of a bow.  The bow itself is said to have been invented in the late Paleolithic or early Mesolithic periods.  The sport of Archery was revived in the Eighteenth Century by Royal patronage and archery societies founded by Sir Walter Scott which were set up across the country.  Each society had its own strict entry criteria, outlandish costumes, and extravagant balls.

Today’s archery clubs are just as memorable even though they are less flashy than those of the past.  Lapel pins are custom in nature which makes them a fitting item to hand out at competitions and club meetings.  Not only are they created from quality materials, they are crafted with extreme care so that they are long lasting.

To Signify Membership At Competitions and Club Meetings

Clubs want to encourage new members to join.  One of the ways that they do just that is through the use of custom lapel pins.  When a man or a woman becomes an archer, they are given a welcome packet that contains important information about the club.

The folder can include sheets of paper outlining dates of meetings and tournaments, a brief history of the club, contact numbers of leaders, and a custom lapel pin.  This small gesture of kindness keeps new members informed and makes them feel like an important part of the group.

Another Item to Display Your Team Logo On

Custom archery lapel pins are a great way to seamlessly display your team logo.  You can wear them on various articles of clothing as well as hats.  You can even attach them to bags as a way to further brand your club. People will learn to associate the logo with your team and later your accomplishments.

Unique Shapes Add to Appeal of Custom Lapel Pins

As you can see from the lapel pin pictured here, you can come up with any unique shape that works for your team and competition.  The arrowhead pin is the same price as other 1″ pins.  You are not charged extra because of the complexity of the pin which makes it easier for you to come up with a design that fits the unique personality of your club.

Turning Your Archery Pins Into Custom Medals

Competitions hand out lapel pins to all competitors.  Sometimes, these competitions enlarge the tournament pin and make custom medals for the participants.  The one that we created for Easton Foundations OAS can be worn on a ribbon or necklace or hung on a keyring or lanyard.

If you want to make a great first impression on new members or competitors but don’t know how to do it, contact Lapel Pins Plus with your ideas and information.  Once we have learned more about your archery club, we will be able to create custom lapel pins that are rich in meaning and versatile in use.

With Election Day fast approaching, political candidates are pulling out all the stops by finding new and inventive ways to win over voters.  One of the newest trends includes the use of custom lanyards as giveaway items at rallies and other appearances and events.  These versatile items have many uses.  From identifying campaign staff to gaining the support of the public, custom lanyards are a valuable tool because they are portable, visible, and functional.

Lanyards For Staff Workers On Campaigns

On the Campaign Trail, custom lanyards help identify staff members.  This builds credibility by making it easier for people to know who they are communicating with.  As workers go door-to-door passing out campaign materials, they can be greeted with support not skepticism from the public.  That is one of the advantages to wearing a lanyard with badge holder attached to it.  Campaign staff can flash their badges and be associated with the candidate of their choice.

Election Offices Can Use Lanyards For Multiple Purposes

At election offices, custom lanyards have many uses.  Here are a few:

  • To identify volunteers at polling locations.
  • To give greeters and other staff access to different areas of the building.

Because they are durable and long lasting, lanyards can withstand months of campaigning.  Rather than elect to have name tags printed out, offices can use different attachment options to clip their IDs onto.

Rally Supporters Use Lanyards As Walking Billboards

Not only are lanyards a value because they can be used in so many different ways, they are also memorable.  People will see the lanyards and know that they were intended for use by the different political candidates to further their chances of being elected.  Essentially they serve as branding.  The people that walk around with them on are serving as billboards for their favorite candidate and his or her causes.

Custom lanyards are perfect for the political arena.  They are lightweight and travel well.  They help identify key staff members and volunteers and serve as a visual statement of support.  Due to their custom nature, they can be created in a way to shed light on a message or campaign.  A variety of different attachments can be included with a lanyard order that add to the usefulness of these great promotional items.

Early summer seems to be the time of year for Optometry Conventions.  At least that’s how it appears to us.  We receive a lot of requests for custom lapel pins during this time for optometrists.  Stylish and professional, they have a number of uses that fit into convention settings well.

Optometrists from around the world travel to warm locations across the country to attend events sponsored by groups like the American Optometric Association (AOA).  This gives them the opportunity to meet and mingle with other professionals.  In addition to earning continuing education points, learning the latest and greatest techniques, optometrists gain valuable insight on their chosen profession.

Great Giveaway Item At Registration Table

When attendees arrive to the event, they must first check in at the registration table.  It is there that they can receive their custom lapel pin for the conference or event.  Not only does this item serve as a thank you gift for participating, it also can take the place of ID badges and paper nametags.  All registered parties can move about freely from one location to the next by simply wearing their custom lapel pin.  This allows event organizers to know who has paid to attend the event and who has not.

Completely Unique and Customizable

Custom lapel pins feature your unique and customizable design.  That means your conference pins can have important information about the event included in the design.  The pin that we created for the AOA was rich in detail and history.  In addition to noting the 25th anniversary of the year that it first participated with Medicare, the stylish items also feature the dates 1986 and 2011 along with the name American Optometric Association.  The exact award is listed as well.  You can see “Physician Recognition For ODs, Public Law 99-509” around the edge of the pin.

Honoring Keynote Speakers or Workshop Leaders

Special lapel pins can be created for guest speakers or workshop leaders.  These tokens of appreciation go a long way in showing support for professional men and women in the field of optometry.  Instead of flowers or other types of gifts, organizers can give the speakers and leaders something memorable and appropriate.

Different Plating Options Appeal to Larger Crowd

You can change the plating but keep the same design if you need a certain amount of pins for a special group of attendees.  This allows you to have a smaller quantity to hand out to VIPs without incurring the cost of making a whole new set of pins.  If you’re looking for a value, this is one of the best ones that we offer.

Custom lapel pins at optometry conventions are appropriate.  Eye doctors around the world can remember their achievements and celebrate the different events that they attended throughout the year by wearing one on their lab coats or shirts.  This allows them to reflect upon the knowledge that they receive at the conference while letting others know that they are furthering their training.

Let’s face it, many kids need dental work. From scheduled cleanings to braces, dentists and orthodontists keep busy. Like other business owners, they don’t have the time to advertise as effectively as they would like to. That’s where custom lanyards come in. Personalized with the dentist or orthodontist’s name, it is a great way for the professionals to advertise to the public quickly and effectively.

Great For Holding Keys

All of the kids that visit the dentist or orthodontist’s office can use a lanyard to keep their keys on. As they walk around schools or malls with these dental lanyards, other people see them and contact the dental office to set up an appointment for their child. That’s why it’s important to remember to include your dental website and phone number on your lanyards to optimize their exposure.

Great Giveaway for Star Patients

Patients that demonstrate an exceptional attitude throughout the process will love having their very own custom lanyard to wear. This gives them a sense of pride in their achievement and helps ensure that future visits are equally successful. Classmates that see the lanyard and the award behind it will want one of their own. If they have to go to a dentist or orthodontist, they will want to go to the one that their friend went to.

Great For Establishing Staff Identity

Custom lanyards are a very functional item. They can be used to help identify staff. This helps give the appearance of unity throughout a dental or orthodontic office. It also does an amazing job to boost morale. When employees feel valued, they are more likely to go the extra mile to make sure that the job gets done perfectly the first time.

Patients know who to approach with their questions or concerns. This makes the check-up and treatment process run as smoothly as possible which is ideal in a busy clinic. Instead of looking around for someone that can help, patients and their families see the lanyards and know that they are in good hands with a caring and professional staff member.

Get the word out about your dental or orthodontic practice. Give Custom Lanyards Plus a call at 1-800-579-9319. You can also email info@customlanyardsplus.com for more information or to submit your design ideas to us. We look forward to hearing from you and getting started on your custom lanyard order.

Since the beginning of this year, we have noticed that there are a lot more people requesting volleyball lapel pins.  Often, traveling select teams contact us a month before a big sports tournament because they want pins designed and produced for their players.  The sports lapel pins are custom which means that they are adorned with the team’s logo, name, mascot, and player numbers.  This helps to establish identity at different events and tournaments throughout the season.

Custom Volleyball Lapel Pins for Sponsors of Tournaments

Sponsors that host volleyball tournaments often request their own custom pins that are handed out with the purchase of a program or sold to raise money for the host location.  This is a great opportunity for businesses and organizations of all sizes to increase their presence in their community through the use of personal branding.

Sponsor lapel pins frequently include the company or group’s name, location, logo, URL or email address.  This makes it easy for others to contact them long after the event is over.  Those businesses and organizations looking to make an even bigger impression can attach their sports lapel pins to a piece of custom cardstock or a business card and hand those out at tournaments and other athletic events.

High School Fundraisers Using Sports Lapel Pins

High schools use their volleyball pins to sell as fundraisers so that they can go to state tournaments.  These events often exceed the athletic budgets of most schools.  Custom lapel pins are cost effective and memorable.  Because they are custom designed, they hold personal meaning and are viewed as being more valuable than other types of disposable products like ink pens and plastic cups.

In addition to lasting longer than other types of giveaway items, volleyball lapel pins never go out of style.  They are as unique as the teams they represent and become valuable keepsakes to everyone that receives one.  Where else can you find a promotional product that is long lasting, durable, practical, portable, custom, attractive, and visual?

The athletes can then go up to players on other teams and ask to see what pins they have and what they are willing to trade for.  This makes for a memorable experience for all parties involved and each volleyball player goes home with new sports lapel pins to show their family members and friends.

At Challenge Coins Plus, we are often asked if an epoxy dome can be added to 3D challenge coins.  We thought that this would make a great topic for today’s blog.  The answer to the question is this.  “Yes, we can add epoxy to coins that have 3D molds.”  This is great information to know because an epoxy dome has its own list of benefits.

What Is An Epoxy Dome?

An epoxy dome is just a thin coating of clear epoxy that is placed over one or both sides of the challenge coin.  It is a personal preference and considering how it affects the aesthetics of the coin not its integrity or durability, it could be something of interest to you.  Epoxy does have a utilitarian use when we cover all of our offset printed images with it.  This is one more thing to think about.

Pros of Having An Epoxy Dome

Some pros of this feature is the look and the feel.  Although you can’t feel the 3D mold per se, your eye can definitely pick up on the depth change of the 3D mold.  The coins’ smooth feel is very similar to coins that are made in our cloisonne style(sometimes called hard enamel).  Because there is a higher perceived value for cloisonne coins, having yours made in soft enamel then coated with an epoxy dome is a great way to capture the same feeling.

Epoxy domes also help protect the coin’s image from scratches.  If you handle your coin collection frequently, you will want the added protection that this option gives your custom challenge coins.  No one will question why you want to preserve your challenge coins in their original state.  Highly collectible objects increase in value when they are in mint condition.

As you can see, an epoxy dome is optional but it does have its benefits.  If you’re looking for a way to enhance the appearance of your 3D challenge coin, consider adding epoxy to your order.  You can discuss this further with one of our professional salespeople when you call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  You can also reach us by emailing info@challengecoinsplus.com.

Hot air balloon lapel pins are created for events held in the United States as well as other areas of the globe.  At these gatherings, participants purchase souvenirs to remind them of the different things that happened throughout the day.  This allows the people attending the event to have something special to take home with them.

Keepsake pins stand out for a number of reasons.  First of all, they are unique and reflect the group or business sponsoring the event.  Second, they are almost always brightly colored.  Last but not least, many have a unique shape that adds value to the lapel pin’s design.

Hot Air Ballooning Group Pins

Hot air ballooning groups from all around the world appreciate the portable nature of lapel pins.  They can attach their pin to their shirt, jacket or hat and step into the basket of the hot air balloon with little effort.  They can also help promote their club’s activities by simply wearing the pin wherever they go.  This creates interest in hot air ballooning in general and gets a larger turn out of supporters at special events and festivals.

Bright Colors Represent Real Hot Air Balloons

Balloon pins are some of the most beautiful pins we make because of their many bright colors.  Most customers choose soft enamel or cloisonne style pin which makes the pins appear even more attractive.  Some choose glitter as well as a way of accenting different areas of the pins.  Whatever elements you choose to include in your design, Lapel Pins Plus can help make them stand out.

Custom Shapes Make Pins Seem Realistic

We can create your custom lapel pins in the shape of a hot air balloon as a way of adding another level of dimension to the design.  This gives value to your idea and makes it something that other people take interest in.  It isn’t unusual for a person to ask you where you got your really cool pin from.

Any balloon enthusiast would be proud to display their new hot air balloon lapel pin.  Just like each balloon is unique, so are the pins that we create for you.  No two designs are ever alike.  That’s because we create each one from scratch.

We do not sell stock pins.  We work with you to come up with the type of artwork for your hot air balloon lapel pins that makes you proud.  See for yourself by visiting http://www.lapelpinsplus.com today.  You can also call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free or email info@lapelpinsplus.com.

Lacrosse teams from all over the world will arrive in Prague with one goal in mind.  They all want to take home the championship title.  That’s why it’s important for them to have plenty of custom trading pins on hand to swap with other athletes going to the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship.  This historic event holds the same amount of excitement as any baseball or softball tournament.  They don’t want to be the only team there without pins to trade with other players.

Trading Pins With Other Teams From Around the World

We have created custom trading pins for several of the teams participating in the championship tournament.  Many of the designs represent the league, country or state the team comes from.  These keepsakes will be traded with other teams from around the world so they need to be memorable.

Soft enamel is the most popular type of pin for trading because of its great look, durability, and price point.  There are a number of ways that you can customize your pins.  Here are a few standout features that you can add to their design:

  • The name of your team.
  • Your hometown.
  • Your player’s names or numbers.
  • Your team mascot.
  • Sliding or spinning pieces.
  • Blinking lights, dangling charms or glitter.
    Bobble heads.

You can also choose a unique size or shape for your custom trading pins.  The most interesting and attractive pins are always traded first.

Having Enough Pins to Successfully Trade

We also recommend that you have enough pins for each player so that they can trade with all the teams.  Ideally, you want to have at least one pin per team playing in the championship for each child on your team.  For example, if the tournament is going to have 40 teams competing with one another, you want to have at least 40 pins for each player.

Pin trading is an event that young players, their families, and coaches look forward to.  Not having enough pins to make trading worthwhile is something that you don’t want to have happen to your team.  Ordering extras ensures that each athlete gets his pick of cool custom trading pins from other teams.

Still have questions?  Why not give us a call at 1-800-252-0904 today.  We create custom trading pins for teams from all around the world during this time of year.  You can also direct your inquiries to info@lapelpinsplus.com.  A friendly sales representative will take the time to address your needs and even provide you with a free quote based on your specifications.
