Air Force schools from all over the U.S. contact us to help design the graduation classes custom challenge coins.  Depending on what school or base has contacted us, we advise making the front of the coin common so it accommodates all the students in attendance and the back of the coin custom so it showcases the individuality of each class.  Creating the coin this way is ideal because it allows the school or base to be represented the same on each classes’ coin while simultaneously allowing each class to feel special and unique.

Personalized Messages Make Each Class Feel Special and Honored

On the coin you see here, the front represents what class or school the coin is from and the back lets you know that this particular graduating class shared the phrase of “turning rocks into diamonds”.  Only the graduating class knows exactly what that means which is why it is memorable for the students it is given to.  Custom challenge coins are ideal for this reason.  You never run the risk of some other group or organization having the exact same coins as you.  That’s because once we create your design and place the order to be manufactured, we keep the artwork on file for you and you alone.  We may showcase a picture of your finished product on our website or on our blog but that’s only to demonstrate how flexible we are with the design process.

A Keepsake Worth Hanging Onto for Years and Years

Air Force challenge coins are handed out to each graduating class.  These tokens are kept with each graduate for the rest of their careers and life.  All one has to do is look at their graduation coin and they instantly jump back in time and remember the classmates and times they had while they were in school.  No other type of memento carries the same appeal that custom challenge coins do.  They are made from quality materials and crafted with care.  They are made from metal so they have a solid weight to them.  They are also intricately designed and personalized with your class’ information.  That’s what makes them so special.

Presentation Options Help Store and Protect Class Challenge Coins

Sometimes, a graduating class will elect a class leader and present him/her with a coin that is in black velvet presentation case.  This way is sure to impress anyone who receives a coin in this type of case.  Presentation options are offered as a way of enhancing an awards or graduation ceremony.  Velvet bags and boxes as well as acrylic cases and coin capsules look professional and help protect the coin from dust, dirt, and fingerprints.

Whether you’re a police officer, detective, or a SWAT team member, if you’re in law enforcement you most likely have at least one challenge coin in your possession. Challenge coins’ military roots go hand in hand with the fundamentals of law enforcement.  Both groups risk their own lives to protect the lives of others.  That’s what makes them recipients of challenge coins.  No other type of award carries the same type of honor or prestige as a personalized coin.

Law Enforcement Challenge Coins Help Acknowledge Different Groups

Within law enforcement, there are many different groups and teams.  Challenge coins are a great way to connect the different groups with a singular coin design that encompasses all of the groups.  Law enforcement coins can be made for a particular division such as the bomb squad or the CSI division. Custom coins are collected as one works their way up the law enforcement ladder.  You take these coins with you from the time you’re a rookie all the way until you retire so that you can have a visual reminder of the time you spent within that unit.

Always Ready for a Challenge

When the day is done and these workers go to their favorite watering hole, they all carry their own coin just in case someone challenges them.  This tradition was made popular by members of the military and carries on today.  This demonstration of pride is something that never grows old.  The challenger makes a verbal request to see everyone in his group’s coins.  If they all do what is asked and present an acceptable challenge coin, he has to buy drinks.  If a person doesn’t have his or her coin or presents one that has been altered in any way, they have to buy the challenger a drink.

Motorcycle Police Coins, Commander Coins, and Highway Trooper Coins

Popular law enforcement coins are motorcycle police coins, commander coins for excellence, and highway trooper coins.  Common details of law enforcement coins can be seen on this example.  Most agencies use their badge and personal motto as well as a date their unit was established.  We can even custom shape the coins to look like a real law enforcement badge which is something really unique and special.

Don’t miss out on a growing trend with law enforcement groups worldwide.  Determine what information you want included on your custom challenge coins and submit it to us via our website at http://www.challengecoinsplus.com/quote.html.  You can also speak to us directly by calling 1-800-252-0904 or emailing info@challengecoinsplus.com today.

You’ve probably heard about soft enamel challenge coins but have you heard of hard enamel challenge coins?  We offer both styles and wanted to feature the latter in today’s blog because many people don’t know that we offer them as an option to our customers.  Hard enamel challenge coins refer to the type of paint-like enamel that is used in the color areas of a coin.  It is filled up to the same level as the surrounding metal which gives the coin a smooth feeling.

What Makes Hard Enamel Coins So Special?

Hard enamel colors are vibrant and very rich in nature.  This helps add to the appearance of the custom coins.  The perceived value of a hard enamel coin is higher than a soft enamel coin.  The reason behind this is simple.  Hard enamel coins are ordered by groups and organizations that want to take things to the next level professionally.

How Soft Enamel Coins Are Created

Soft enamel coins are not flexible or soft by any means.  The name refers to the type of paint that is used in the color areas.  With soft enamel coins (most common) the paint is filled slightly less than flush with the surrounding metal.  This gives the coin a raised and recessed feel.  All the surrounding metal is raised and the color areas are recessed.

Custom Challenge Coins in Soft or Hard Enamel

We can take any design that can be done as soft enamel and make it hard enamel for our customers.  This allows you to have the coins that you want for whatever purpose that you want to use them for.   If you like the look of soft enamel but want a smooth surface like hard enamel coins, we can put a clear epoxy coating over your coin for a feeling that is smooth to the touch.

Hard enamel challenge coins are a great option for groups, organizations, and businesses of all sizes.  They’re attractive, versatile, and personal.  You can add your own logo or photograph to their artwork and even customize a message to reflect the goals or values of your company, non-profit or club.  You can get an idea of our prices by visiting http://www.challengecoinsplus.com/pricing.html#options today.

Daystar Church wanted to give its first responders comprised of individuals, that are EMS, Firefighters, and Police Officers,  a gift to honor the upcoming 10th anniversary of 9/11.  The emblems that these professionals use are universally recognizable and make great designs for custom challenge coins.  Having a token such as a challenge coin on the tenth year anniversary of 9/11 is a thoughtful way to remember the men and women that protect and serve our communities daily.

September 11, 2001 was a somber day for America.  Many of the first responders on call at the World Trade Center lost their lives.  Keeping the spirit of these brave men and women alive is exactly what Daystar Church was trying to accomplish.  They decided to include information about their church on one side of the coin and logos that represent first responders on the other side.  They also wanted to include some text honoring the specific group of recipients being recognized.

All members of the congregation that are first responders will receive this special coin during one of the church services.  The church chose to have the coins placed in black velvet coin presentation case which adds a classy touch to any type of ceremony.  Different options like acrylic coin cases and coin capsules make it easy to display challenge coins in a recipient’s home or office.

Since World War I, challenge coins have been used to honor exceptional service.  First responders are heroic people.  They put the community first above their needs.  They deserve recognition and Daystar Church was one of the first of many churches, groups, and organizations looking for a memorable way to honor them this September.

You may be asking yourself, “What are challenge coins and why have they become so popular recently?”  As an experienced challenge coin manufacturer, we can answer both questions for you.  A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members.  The custom items are given to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale.

The reason why they are popular has to do with their unique design.  Created from different types of metal, they are made in a similar fashion as currency.  The challenge coins are therefore significantly heavier than other types of award items and extremely detailed.  They are designed in a way that sheds light on an organization and its history as well as its members.

A Brief Primer on the Use of Challenge Coins

It takes a conscious effort to carry a challenge coins at all times. Traditionally, rules of a challenge prohibit defacing the coin in any manner, especially if it makes it easier to carry at all times.  If you are challenged to show your coin and you do not have it on you, it is your responsibility to pick up that round of spirits for the person that challenged you.  This tradition originated with members of the military whom enjoyed a little friendly competition while relaxing with friends.

Challenge Coins Uses

Custom challenge coins are very versatile.  In fact, that is why they are becoming more and more popular outside the military. Corporations, police departments, fire departments and motorcycle clubs are just a few of the other groups that use custom challenge coins in their everyday life.

Here are some ways that they are being used:

  • To honor heroic acts
  • To encourage membership and years of service
  • To thank customers for their business
  • To recognize individual merits
  • To build friendships in foreign lands
  • To remember a certain individual or event

Custom Coin Characteristics

Challenge coins have their own unique appearance and feel.  Here are a few of the characteristics you will find on nearly every coin created by Challenge Coins Plus:

  • Coins typically range in size from 1.5” to 2”.
  • They are primarily solid brass and plated in gold or silver.
  • Many coins are traditionally round in shape but many of our customers prefer to have unique, cut-to-shape challenge coins.

It is hard to sum up nearly a century’s worth of challenge coin history in a single blog.  That’s why we will be focusing some of our time on creating topics that we think will be of interest to you, your business, group or organization.  As always, you can reach us by visiting http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, emailing info@challengecoinsplus.com or calling 1-800=252-0904.  Your free price quote and full color digital proof awaits.

Fire and Iron Firefighter’s Motorcycle Club is made up of firefighters and other fire department personnel who love to ride bikes and have a good time.  Each member of the club is an active full-time/career, paid-on-call, or volunteer member of the fire service community. In addition to firefighters, the club welcomes dispatchers, inspectors, and mechanics, who work in direct support of the fire service.

Charitable Giving is a Big Part of Motorcycle Club’s Agenda

Members of the club not only share a passion for protecting the lives of the citizens of their communities, but also for the open road.  Fire and Iron Firefighter’s Motorcycle Club takes great pride in its efforts to support various charitable organizations as well as other clubs and rides.  Custom motorcycle challenge coins are created for both of these purposes.

Custom Challenge Coins Bond Members Together

Motorcycle clubs use custom challenge coins as a way to bond its members with a single item.  These coins are customized for each chapter in a way that highlights its members.  Different Chapters are started up when a group of fire fighters from a local station(s) come together and form their chapter.

Memorial Coins and Charity Ride Coins Are Popular

Custom coins are made to honor lost members of the club and are also made to commemorate a ride that is for a charity of the chapter.  The versatility of these objects and the fact that they can be created in a way that is personal and memorable are a few reasons why challenge coins and motorcycle clubs mix so well together.  In fact, it isn’t unusual to see members carrying them around in their pockets or challenging other members in a bar or pub.  This allows members to show pride in what they do professionally as well as in their free time.

Challenge coins are symbolic and a part of history.  Since World War I, service members have been giving them to one another as a way of commemorating heroic acts and encouraging leaders to persevere.  To learn more about custom motorcycle club challenge coins, visit www.challengecoinsplus.com.  You can also reach us by email at info@challengecoinsplus.com or phone 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.

Private security companies are on the rise because there is a growing need to protect products, people and buildings.  That’s what makes the demand for these types of services so great.  In today’s world, you can never be too cautious.  Security companies add an extra level of safety which increases an employee’s level of well-being while on the job.

Embroidered Patches Work Well with Uniforms of All Types

Part of every security uniform includes patches that go on the shoulder area of the shirt.  These embroidered items often have the name of the security company that is patrolling that particular building on them.  Many of these patches have to fit very precise specifications.  We are happy to accommodate these requests.  In fact, many of our customers prefer shield shapes or round circle patches.  These patches are instrumental in alerting the public who and what the wearer’s job is.

Different Backing Options to Fit Each Customer’s Needs

Our custom patches can have a velcro backing or an iron-on option if needed.  We can even incorporate metallic gold or silver thread to help your security patch stand out.  Details like these add to the attractiveness of patches.  People can see them and know that the person wearing them is someone with authority.

Images and Text Give Patches Their Unique Look

Most security patches, like the one you see here, have the state in which they operate as well as a company motto or saying.  Large letters spelling out, “Security” are vital in the design of a patch.  This allows people to identify the officers quickly and easily.  This allows operations to run more smoothly because citizens know that the security guards are there to help.

Malls, pawn shops, and banks are just a few of the types of businesses that benefit from hiring private security firms to protect their assets.  Ordering custom patches for each employee’s uniform is a smart move no matter how you look at it.  In fact, there are very few forms of identification that are as effective as a custom embroidered patch.

Hospitals around the country have incorporated lapel pins into their budget.  In addition to serving as successful marketing tools, the pins are used for a variety of other purposes.  In fact, few items are as versatile and attractive as a custom lapel pin.  Just ask the University of Washington Medical Center.  They contacted Lapel Pins Plus because they needed help designing a special lapel pin for their information desk workers to wear.

After hearing their suggestions and ideas, we were able to come up with a one-of-a kind custom design that fit their needs perfectly.  That’s the beauty of personalized pins.  No two customers have the same design.  This ensures that your hospital or healthcare facility stands out in the mind of your patients and vendors.

Hospitals have so many different departments that lapel pins are a great way to allow every employee to identify what their role in the hospital is.  We can alter the design of the pin by changing its color to signify the different units within the building.  This makes it easier for volunteers and visitors to find their way around and speak to the right people when they need information.

Here are a few other prominent departments in hospitals that order lapel pins:

  • Hospital Security
  • Physicians
  • Administrators
  • Greeters/Welcoming
  • Cleaning Crews

All of these groups use lapel pins in different ways while working in the hospital.

Nursing lapel pins are very popular, as they often times show the personality of the group ordering them.  Your design can take on a unique size or shape and even feature custom artwork created by you if you want them to be really personal.  You can even add glitter, gemstones, blinking lights, and dangling charms if you want your nursing pins to be truly unique.

Lapel pins are great because they are small enough not to be the center of attention but big enough to really show the personality of the person wearing the pin.  Allow us to be your lapel pin manufacturer of choice.  Visit http://www.lapelpinsplus.com today to learn how to order your own hospital lapel pins.  You can also email info@lapelpinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 with any questions you might have.

Kids all over the country are attending their last few weeks of summer camp.  Whether the theme included a sleep away camp full of outdoor activities or an athletic type camp where skills were learned, one thing is certain.  Summer camps are loved by children of all ages.  In fact, they become their home away from home for the weeks and months that they spend time at them.

What Makes Summer Camp So Appealing?

A few of the things that make summer camp so appealing is that all ages are welcome and there is a camp that fits the personality and interests of every child.  Lapel pins are used at these camps as motivational tools and awards for accomplishing set goals.  In addition to serving as rewards, they can also be made to give out to the campers on their last day as a way to remind them of the fun time they had and of the friendships they made.  As kids go from camp to camp, they begin to collect these keepsakes from years past so they can remember each experience that they had along the way.

How Are Lapel Pins Used in Camp Settings?

Custom lapel pins can be used in a number of different ways.  In fact, we listed a few above.  Here are some more to consider:

  • Pins can be used to designate the age group of the child at large camps where the age range varies dramatically. This makes it easier for staff and counselors to account for groups of campers and allows them to pay special attention to younger kids needing attention.
  • Helps identify staff and volunteers at camp, so kids know who to go to for help. Campers can see a lapel pin and know who to approach and trust.  This makes operations run smoothly and ensures that camp is successful all summer.
  • Custom lapel pins can be paired up with custom lanyards for dual exposure. Campers can display their favorite pins in a visible locations for others to see.  This allows others to see how long they have been attending camp.
  • Pins can be attached to cardstock and include information about the camp, its motto or pledge. Because pins are small in size, it is difficult to include a lot of text on them.  That’s why it’s important to include longer messages on a piece of cardstock.  Campers can look back at their pin and remember the type of experiences that they had during that particular summer.

Get ready for next summer ahead of time by thinking about your lapel pin design today.  You can call, email or contact us through our website to request a no obligation, free quote.  Once we’ve heard your design ideas, we get busy creating custom artwork for your pins.  We submit this to you via a full color digital proof.  You take a look at it and once you’re satisfied, we submit your design to our production department for manufacturing.  It’s as easy as that.

Visit http://www.lapelpinsplus.com, email info@lapelpinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 today.  We can’t wait to get started on your unique summer camp lapel pins.
