Lapel pins are often times considered to be jewelry-like in nature.  Because they help accessorize any outfit or uniform, it is easy to see the connection.  Did you know that we can turn any lapel pin design into a set of earrings for you?  All that we do is add a loop at the top and then attach our earring back.

Different Styles of Backings Add to the Appeal of Custom Earrings

The image you see here shows the earring backing.  We also have a traditional stud backing available.  The earring you see here was for a group of military members who wanted to convert their existing lapel pin design to earrings.

Military Wives Honor Their Husbands By Wearing Emblem Earrings

Some great ways that we have seen customers use the earring option is for military wives that want to honor their husbands unit by having the unit emblem turned into earrings.  We have also seen high schools turn their school mascot into an earring.  This is a great way to remember the past.

Cut-Outs Make Earrings Lightweight and Distinctive

Consider adding a cut-out to your earring design to help keep them as light as possible.  Your order can have some pins with earring backings and some with a traditional post and butterfly clutch.  This allows the recipients to have choice when it comes to their custom earrings.

Submit your design ideas to us right away and see what we can do for you.  Visit today.  You can email or call a sales representative.  They will be more than happy to answer your questions and send you a free price quote and full color digital proof.  Email or call 1-800-480-6822 toll-free.  Attractive earrings are possible with Lapel Pins Plus.

St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday that is coming up in just a few weeks.  There is still time for us to help design, produce, and deliver your custom lapel pins before March 17th.  The day is characterized by the church services, wearing of green attire, and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol.

For the youngsters out there, receiving a St. Patrick’s Day pin would be the highlight of their day.  Teachers can pass them out to their class as a gift.  The pin design could be based on a book they are reading about the holiday, or maybe a lucky shamrock design.  Who knows, maybe a leprechaun will leave some behind for deserving students.

Teenagers enjoy collecting holiday pins like this so that they can have a keepsake to look back at once they are older.  They enjoy wearing pins on a jacket, shirt, sweater or hat so that others can see them.  St. Patrick’s Day lapel pins are no different.  They are attractive pieces of jewelry that everyone enjoys.

Leprechaun pins, rainbows with pots of gold, or just the words “Happy St Patrick’s Day” are all great ideas for lapel pins.  If the adults are having a party, they could pass one out to each of the guests to pin to their favorite green article of clothing.  This is a great way to make everyone enthusiastic about the day’s festivities.

No matter young or old, everyone enjoys receiving themed lapel pins.  Because of their high quality and beautiful look, they are kept for many years and worn time and time again.  This makes them the ideal giveaway items for businesses, organizations, clubs, and schools.

We can even customize your pins to have different types of backings.  In addition to our stand post with clutch, you can choose from magnetic backing, jewelry clutches, safety pins as well as no backing at all.  No backing or smooth back pins as we like to call them are great for mounting to awards or name cards.

Visit today.  You can also email or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We’ll be happy to send you a free price quote and full color digital proof.

One question that we seem to get a lot is “What can I do to really customize my trading pin?”  A great way to do this is to incorporate your state into the artwork.  Our team of talented graphic designers can take your state, and use it to help customize your pin.  We have 2 examples of what this may look like should you choose to go this route.

The first way is to use the shape of the state as a dangler.  In the Bruins pin you see here, the state of Kansas is represented as a dangler.  We even put a dot on the location of the actual city this team was from.

In the other example pictured here, the entire pin backdrop is the state of Texas.  We also incorporated the state colors of red, white, and blue to help with the design.  Both of these techniques are great ways to bring your hometown and home state with you to your next tournament.

With tournaments starting in just a few months, now is the perfect time to get started on your design.  Please don’t wait until the last second to begin working on your pins.  We suggest having a team meeting now and getting everyone’s input.  Then contact us with your vision for your design and we’ll take it from there.

Attractive custom trading pins are a phone call or email away.  Visit to see examples of what we can do.  You can reach us by calling 1-800-252-0904 toll-free or emailing  Either way, we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.

Car clubs exist all across our great country. From exotic sports cars to domestic work horses, almost every car has a club of members that follow. Recently, we were able to help a car club of Porsche enthusiasts.  Using the customer’s design ideas, we came up with a product that they could be proud of.

Car badges are typically larger version of the lapel pins that we make.  They are much thicker thin a lapel pin but the way that they are die struck is the same.  Most car badges are around 3” to 4” in size whereas a common lapel pin is about 1” in size.

We drill 2 holes in the car badge so that it can be mounted by our customers.  Sometimes, enthusiasts mount them to their actual car but often times they are displayed in an office setting or in the workshop.  This gives other people the opportunity to look at the car badge and know what it means to its owner.

Car badges are also typically done in our cloisonné style.  With a high jewelry-like finish, these pieces of art are impressive to say the least.  They have a perceived value that is higher than many other types of products.  That’s why our customers love them so much.

We would be happy to help your club design a car badge.  Whether you hand them out to new members, or honor deserving existing members, you can be sure that the recipient will feel honored and appreciated.  Let us be a part of your experience.  Visit today.

You can also email or call 1-800-252-0904.  We’ll hear your ideas and send you a price quote and full color digital proof right away.  This allows you to see your design concept come to life.  As always, shipping is free and part of the services that we provide to you.

A growing trend in the lapel pin world is school lapel pins. Elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools all are finding out the many benefits of lapel pins. They are a great keepsake for the students who attend that school because they are a visual reminder of that part of a child’s life.

When a student looks back at pin from their elementary school, they will be instantly transported back to what was their life just a few years before.  Schools across the country like to incorporate the school mascot, the name of the school, and maybe a brief motto as seen on the pin here in this blog.  Other uses for school lapel pins are to honor a beloved teacher, or to celebrate a school met goal such as an “A” school.

Entire departments such as the math department can come up with a pin design to help launch the new curriculum for that year.  Sports teams at the school can sell the lapel pins as a fundraiser item to help make money for the team.  With so many uses for school lapel pins, it’s no wonder why each day we are hearing from schools across the country.

Order your own custom lapel pins today.  Visit  You can also email or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We will be more than happy to give you suggestions on ways to make your custom lapel pins stand out.  We also will provide you with a free price quote and full color digital proof.  Take a look at the design and make revisions as you see fit.  Once you’ve approved your design, we send it to the production department for manufacturing.  In no time at all, you’ll have your custom lapel pins in hand to give out to your students, teachers, and faculty.

Another tip for the upcoming Little League baseball and softball season.   Consider black metal plating to spruce up the look of your pins.  It is great for trading pins because it gives the design a distinctly classic look.  The best part of all is that it doesn’t cost any more money than our gold or silver plated pins.

We can achieve great details that add depth to the pins because the black acts as a shadowing effect.  Another benefit is that the colors that go against the black metal always seem to pop out at you giving the pin visual appeal.  If you’re looking for ways to set your trading pins apart in the crowd, black metal plating is an option you should definitely look into.

Also just like the pin pictured here, glitter paint along with black metal creates a cool affect that your players will love.  The extra sparkle is often just what is needed to make others take interest in your pins.  At games and tournaments, the most attractive pins are traded first.

Custom trading pins are a great way for players to break the ice.  They give them something to look forward to.  No matter who wins that day, every team member goes home feeling like a champion.  That’s because he or she has a lanyard, pin bag or towel full of trading pins to take home and add to their collection.

Don’t wait another minute to create your custom trading pins.  Visit  You can also email your ideas to  If you’d rather speak to a representative by phone, please call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We’ll be happy to discuss your concept for black metal plated trading pins today.

One of the most popular uses for lapel pins is as thank you gifts for others.  Over the years, we have found that thank you pins given to donors of a certain charity or cause are one of the best ways to show your appreciation.  Lapel pins are great because they are versatile, they appeal equally to men and women, they are 100% customizable, and they have a high perceived value.

Recently, Delaware Hospice contacted us with a request to help them with their donor pin gift program.  The attached panda pin is the thank you pin that they will send to all of those that gave a certain amount of time or money to their foundation.  This is an ideal way to honor those who have made a contribution to a worthy cause.

A great way to differentiate between giving levels is to change the color of the plating.  Donors that reach the top level get a gold plated pin, then the next tier gets a silver plated pin and so on.  This is an economical way of differentiating because it does not cost you any money to change the plating within an order.

Another suggestion is to hand out the pins at a Gala or ceremony in one of our presentation cases.  From an acrylic box to a velvet box we have many different presentation cases to choose from to take your donor ceremony to the next level.  You can see pictures of them by visiting

Custom lapel pins are a great way to recognize donors and the commitment they have made to help out your foundation, non-profit or organization.  For more ideas on ways to customize your own pins, visit  You can also reach one of our representatives by emailing or calling 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We’ll be more than happy to assist you with creating custom artwork for your donor lapel pins.  We even pick up the cost of shipping by offering free delivery on your order of custom pins.

Little League baseball and softball traffic is already starting to pick up here at Lapel Pins Plus.  With just a few months until tournaments start, now is the perfect time to start working on your pins.  Each year the same pattern seems to occur.  Teams from all over the country design their pins early but forget to place their order.  Sometimes they are waiting on final decisions to be made and sometimes time just gets away from them.

We understand this is how life goes but here is the biggest tip we can offer.  Order Early! Order as soon as you are satisfied with your design.  Right now, trading pins only take about 10-12 days to deliver.  As we get closer and closer to July and August, that time frame will swell to 2 -3 weeks to get the same pins.

This is based on pure volume.  Trust us!  We want all of our customers and all of the little leaguers out there to have pins for their tournaments.  For many of the players, the pastime of trading pins exceeds the excitement of actually playing the games.  The boys and girls get to meet new and old friends from across the country and share a pin that represents who they are.  If you wait too long, you run the risk of missing out on this entire experience.

The second point that we want to stress today is quantity.  Order a few more pins per player than you think you will need.  We always like to suggest that as a minimum, you order 1 pin per player for each of the teams in your tournament.  For example, if you have a tournament of 30 teams and your team has 12 players you would want to order (30×12 = 360 pins) as a minimum.

A lot of teams order 1-3 pins per player per team and for the Cooperstown teams, orders of 1000-2000 are the most common quantities ordered.  The fact of the matter is most likely your kids are going to trade all of their pins away faster than anticipated.  It is never fun to have to stop the trading excitement early because you are out of pins.  Take extra.  For an extra couple of dollars per kid, you can send them with a few more pins which will allow them to trade longer and to receive more pins from other teams.

Campaigning is in full effect. From local mayors and judges to our next President, you have undoubtedly seen and heard candidates speaking their minds.  You see them on TV, in the newspaper, and at most street corners.

If you look closely, you will see that most are wearing lapel pins.  Lapel pins are the little jewelry-like pins that you see on the lapels or collars of men and the fronts of blouses on women. The most popular is probably the U.S. flag.  However, we are seeing some unique ones pop up this year.

The pin you see here was worn by a presidential candidate and seen by a customer of ours.  Because we custom make all of our lapel pins, we were able to duplicate the exact pin that our customer saw their favorite candidate wearing.  The pin is a replicate a flag called the George Washington Flag (The 13 Star Flag is the most common and popular colonial flag to this day, yet many people are unaware of its history). It became the official flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, now known as Flag Day.

If you have a certain flag or banner that represents your ideals or your group’s vision, please contact us so that we may help you turn it into a memorable campaign lapel pin.  Try out our magnetic backing to avoid poking a hole in your nice shirts or blouses.  If a post is your preferred method of attachment, try our locking clutches or jewelry clutches for added security.

Visit today to request a free price quote and full color digital proof.  Not only will this allow you to see what your custom design will look like, it also gives you the opportunity to add to or remove items from your lapel pins before they are manufactured.  Call us at 1-800-252-0904 or email with any questions you might have.  We’ll be more than happy to help you come up with a design for your lapel pins that best fits your needs.
