Awareness ribbon lapel pins save lives by increasing awareness about a disease or cause that deserves recognition.  Groups and organizations worldwide have adopted this symbol as their own and used it to educate the public about the prevention and treatment of breast cancer and heart disease as well as shed light about political, social, and environmental issues.  In addition to raising funds and celebrating volunteers, custom lapel pins can be given out to survivors and their families for their bravery.

The custom lapel pin featured in today’s blog was made specifically for the Coeur D’Alene Tribe.  According to the group’s website:

The Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe has a current enrollment of over 2,190 members. The tribe has sovereign authority on a reservation covering 345,000 acres of mountains, lakes, timber and farmland, spanning the western edge of the northern Rocky Mountains and the abundant Palouse country. The Tribe, like all tribes in America, has a government based on executive, legislative and judicial branches. The tribal council has seven members and operates on a parliamentary system, with members elected by tribal vote and the chairman elected by vote on the council. Although he or she would serve as chief executive, the chairman has one vote on the council and does not have veto power.”

Everything we make is 100% custom made which makes it easy for us to take a traditional awareness ribbon design and alter it.  You will see on this pin instead of the traditional ribbon tails, we have switched them out with moccasins.  The center circle is the tribe’s logo which was very important to them to keep on the pin.  Because the campaign was promoting Stop the Violence, that too, was of the utmost importance to our customer.

Sometimes with ribbon pins we will cut-out the top part that is recessed gold on this pin.  Adding cut-outs gives pins added detail and dimension.  Although details like this seem minor, they alter the overall appearance of custom lapel pins.  If you’re looking for a way to set your awareness ribbon pins apart from the crowd, cut-outs are a great way to do so.

If there is a cause or campaign that you would like to bring to the attention of those around you, please contact us today and we will be happy to help create an awareness lapel pin to get your message out there.  By infusing your own personal flare on ribbon pins, you instantly add personal meaning and history.

Lapel pins and church seem to go together like salt and pepper.  Maybe it is because we envision nice church clothes accompanied by classic lapel pins.  Whether it is soft enamel, cloisonné, die struck or offset printed, a custom pin speaks volumes about the religious institutes that order them.

Church Pins Create a Buzz About Upcoming Sermons and Bible Studies

Churches come to us for many different reasons.  A common request is that we help design a lapel pin that will help launch a new series of sermons that the church is about to dive into.  This way, the church can pass out a pin that will start the buzz around the new lessons to come for the next few weeks or months.

Welcoming New Members is Easy with Custom Lapel Pins

We also help design pins for membership of a church.  Most churches have a pastoral team, a facilities team, and the congregation.  Our job is to come up with pins that clearly identify which group you are in while still connecting all 3 pins back to one church.  The unique finish you see here is called an antique finish.  We added it to a silver die struck pin to get the “wow factor”.

Antiquing Gives Metal a Classic Look That Never Goes Out of Style

We originally had drawn the pin with color but through the proofing process we wound up going this direction.  Pins with an antique finish like the one pictured here have an old, worn look that is attractive.  The weathered look allows them to be worn for years without losing their  appeal.

We love hearing your ideas and concepts.  Along with your input and our expertise, truly one-of-a-kind lapel pins are right at your fingertips.  Request your free quote by visiting http://www.lapelpinsplus.com.  You can also reach us by phoning 1-800-252-0904 toll-free or emailing info@lapelpinsplus.com today.

This blog is going to reveal another trick that we use when helping to design trading pins for softball and baseball players from across the country.  The technique is called Diamond plate.  You see diamond plate all around and probably don’t even realize it.  You see it on stair treads, tool boxes, and pickup truck bed liners.

This rugged looking metal finish screams durability and toughness and adding it to your trading pin this year will instantly increase the value of your pin.  This technique does not cost you more but the perceived value skyrockets because of the coolness factor.  Also, you won’t see a lot of other pins with this technique so it makes your pins more unique.  At the end of the day, the more unique your pins, the faster and easier you can trade them.

The pin you see here also has an antique silver finish that adds to the look of the pin.  All of the recessed areas get a light antique finish which allows the raised areas to really stand out.  Details like these add to the attractiveness of custom trading pins.

One other design trick that was used for this pin was the font choice.  We can use just about any font that is out there.  However, our customer wanted a tough, mean looking font to accompany the skull so we chose an old English style font.  Small details like font choice make all the difference when it comes down to tradability.

Stay tuned for next week’s blog where we dig into more tips from the pros.  Visit http://www.lapelpinsplus.com, email info@lapelpinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We will answer any questions that you have about trading pins and customizing them.

Bar associations have a long, prominent past in the United States.  Before an attorney can start to practice in his or her state, they must past an exam that the bar puts in front of them.  Attorneys are held to the high standards of their state bars.  Volunteers and employees of the bar like to be recognized for their years of service to the bar.

Lawyers have many occasions to wear these pins.  They wear them in court, at fundraising dinners, bar association meetings, and other special events.  They are proud to show others the amount of years they have served.  That’s why they like lapel pins.  They make a great award item because they are attractive and visible.

Using silkscreens to change the number of years is a trick we use to keep your cost down.  We use the same mold for all of the different pins but simply change the silkscreen area with the different years that you request.  In the example you see here, the phrase “20+ Year Member” is the silkscreened area.  This way, we can change it to say “5+” or “10+” very economically.

Years of service lapel pins are incredibly positive tools for lawyers.  They help individuals strive to be their personal best and encourage them to stay with the bar for a good length of time.  Small incentives carry great weight in the workplace.  That’s why so many businesses opt to use them to reward their employees for their service and commitment throughout the year.
